Initially started by DNR, this volunteer program helps us understand more about the elusive Saw Whet Owls. Very little is understood about their migration, nesting selection, and territories of these owls. By banding and now adding nano tag transmitters, we can start inching towards getting to know these owls.  Project OWLnet is run nation-wide with a total of 17 stations running presently. This past year I volunteered to help capture, band, and process owls with Dave Brinker and Steve Huy at the Lamb Knolls Banding Station, MD.
